Technical data
The SR-219 is similar to the SR-209 and to the SR-209C but with a smaller foot-print as it only includes one tuner slot and one IF strip.
The related tuner head series is displayed here.
It should has been designed for mobile operation as it main power supply source was a
battery which took place on the upper side while the battery charger was on the lower side.
This explains the 'CHG' position on the power rotary switch.
One can take note that the audio amplifier can be fully disabled from a internal switch.
Adding this and the fact that there is no provision for multiple IF bandwith, and one can
guess that this equipment was mainly designed as a video receiver (telemetry, bug acquisition)...
BTW, I found no information on this model even in the ACL or Norlin catalogs that are on the
Internet.
The model displayed here was been modified before I got it. It may have been used for
telemetry purpose as it included a XR2206 modem based extension.
I removed these modifications, rewired the audio socket, add an orignal wire connector
on the back and move the DC/DC power supply part to get it as similar as the original
configuration. Later I will add a battery charger which let me operate it from a small
12V lead batterie.
